Decorative Concrete

Polished concrete is becoming a popular flooring option in the Austin and surrounding areas, this is because it is the most durable flooring option, requires the least amount of maintenance, and in addition to being a high quality floor when polished correctly, it is 100% sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Cream Polish

Our most popular polished concrete option is a Cream Polish, we start with a diamond that is just aggressive enough to cut and open up the surface while leaving the cream finish intact, then we work our way up to an 800/1800 diamond, depending on the desired level of shine. After grinding to the desired grit we apply a coat of sealer and burnish it to increase the shine and lock in the sealer.

Stain & Polish

Another option that we offer is a Stain & Polish, it is much more durable than the traditional concrete stain. The durability comes from refining the concrete with a pigmented hardener. This allows the actual concrete to be the wear surface, rather than having a comparably weak topcoat of sealer as the wear surface. One more beneficial attribute of our Stain & Polish is the cosmetic difference, the traditional Stain & Seal typically has a satin finish while our Stain & Polish looks much more glossy.

Full Aggregate Exposure

This system requires the most aggressive grinding, we start at a 30 grit wet grind to expose the desired amount of aggregate, we use a colloidal silica densifier that reacts with the water within the concrete in order to prevent pitting. After the first round of densifying we continue grinding to a 200 grit and densify between each step, after reaching a 200 grit we use the same system as we would with a typical cream polish.
